How to avoid getting locked out of RapidIdentity

When using the RapidIdentity app to authenticate your login, it is easy to get locked out of your account if you try using the PingMe option 3 or more times consecutively and fail.

PingMe failure is commonly due to weak wireless or cellular data connections, being connected to BUguest or BUother instead of BUsecure on one or more devices, or other networking issues.

If you are not able to authenticate after the first two tries, the best option is to choose the TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) method instead.

TOTP pin codes are generated from the RapidIdentity app, and do not require a strong network connection, therefore they are the best option in areas of campus where network signals are questionable.

To use TOTP instead of PingMe, simply select the TOTP option from the MFA screen:

Click the Choose button to continue.

On your phone, open the RapidIdentity App and tap on your Bradley account.

Enter your PIN that you set up when you first enrolled in MFA. If you don't recall your PIN, please visit the Service Desk for assistance.

After entering your PIN, tap submit and you will get a revolving 6-digit PIN code. If the time remaining does not allow enough time to enter it into the TOTP field on the login screen, wait for the timer to restart at 30 seconds.

Enter the PIN code from your phone into the Token Code field on your computer and click Submit.

Once you hit submit, you should be directed to the website you are logging into within a few seconds.
