Troubleshooting Guide for Dell Docking Station + DisplayLink Software

Note: This guide is for Apple Silicon (M1+) MacBooks using a DisplayLink-compatible Dell docking station and the accompanying software to achieve multiple external displays.

Intermittent Freezing or Display Issues
- Launch the App: Open DisplayLink Manager from the Applications folder if the menu bar icon (two interlocking squares) isn’t visible.

- Restart DisplayLink Manager: Quit the app from the menu bar, then relaunch it.

- Reset components: Unplug the dock from power and disconnect the display cables. Wait 10–15 seconds, then reconnect everything in this order: power adapter → dock → MacBook → monitors.

- Avoid adapters: Use direct USB-C connections to the dock (no converters).
- Run Updates: Ensure both the MacOS and DisplayLink Manager software are updated to their latest versions.
