Why do I get a blank screen when opening VDI on my Mac running macOS Catalina?

A recent update to macOS Catalina has caused an issue with the way the VM is displayed on the Mac. To fix this, right click on the VM prior to launching it, and change the display protocol to "Blast" instead of "PCoIP".
