Q: What if someone doesn't save the encryption key and they forget or change their password?

A: They call the IT Service Desk at 309-677-2964 and open a ticket and someone can help them.

Q: If they are not online, does the key still work?

A: Yes, the encryption is hardware based and not dependent on being online after it is encrypted. The only time the network is necessary is in the initial phase that the scheduler kicks off the process and that is only to write the encryption key to the domain.

Q: Will the Digitally Connected Campus iPads be encrypted?

A: Yes. All iPhones and iPads sold since the iPhone 3GS have hardware encryption enabled by default where the encryption key is unlocked by the user's PIN. The DCC iPads have been encrypted since they were first issued.

Q: Will student devices be encrypted?

A: No, student's computers are not managed by Bradley University and will not be impacted.

Q: Will lab computers that students use be encrypted? If so, do students need to do anything special in order to use them?

A: The labs will be encrypted over winter break. There is nothing students will need to do differently from what they currently do.

Q: Will classroom lectern computers be encrypted? If so, do faculty need to do anything special in order to use them?

A: The classroom lectern computers will be encrypted over winter break. There is nothing faculty will need to do differently from what they currently do.
